Dubois has a case as top heavyweight, but no clear consensus Boxing writers at Bad Left Hook disagreed on whether Daniel Dubois is boxing’s top heavyweight if Oleksandr Usyk is set aside. Scott Christ gave Dubois the edge, pointing to his ability to recover from losses, while Wil Esco said he did not consider Dubois the clear best and favored leaving the position vacant.

John Hansen said Agit Kabayel is the alternative if Dubois is not the choice, while noting Dubois has faced more top-level opposition. Separate reporting said Dubois is pursuing major fights and that promoter Frank Warren identified a possible rematch with Filip Hrgovic, whom Dubois has beaten.
