Amanda Serrano schedules final fight against Skye Falzon

Amanda Serrano will make her final ring walk on Jan. 9, 2027, at Coliseo de Puerto Rico in San Juan, defending her WBO and WBA featherweight titles against Australia’s Skye Falzon. Most Valuable Promotions announced the fight, which will stream on DAZN and is scheduled for 12 three-minute rounds. Serrano is 50-4-1 with 32 knockouts; Falzon is 12-2 with seven knockouts.

Serrano, a seven-division world champion, said closing her career in Puerto Rico in front of the people who supported her means everything. The format reflects her advocacy for women’s championship fights to use the same 12 three-minute rounds as men’s title bouts.

The fight will be held at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico in Serrano’s home territory. MVP said tickets go on sale Nov. 3, and a kickoff press conference is scheduled for that date in San Juan.

Canelo Alvarez faces Christian Mbilli as Teddy Atlas warns of a stamina test

Canelo Alvarez is scheduled to challenge WBC super-middleweight champion Christian Mbilli on Oct. 31, with the fight on DAZN pay-per-view. Mbilli is unbeaten with 29 wins and one draw, according to WBC material; Alvarez held the division’s WBC title from 2020 through 2025.

Trainer Teddy Atlas believes Alvarez needs to hurt Mbilli early, warning that the champion’s relentless output could wear down the older fighter over the later rounds. Atlas identified the uppercut and body shots as potential counters, but said Alvarez is unlikely to outwork Mbilli. Boxing 247 reported that Alvarez has not stopped an opponent in his last eight fights.

The bout is proceeding amid security concerns in Riyadh, according to BoxingScene. Chris Algieri said the situation and disruption to fighters’ travel and preparation could affect performances; he also noted that fighters besides Mbilli may have less choice about whether to compete for the opportunity.

WBO orders Shakur Stevenson to negotiate with Raymond Muratalla

The WBO ordered junior-welterweight champion Shakur Stevenson to negotiate a title defense against mandatory challenger Raymond Muratalla, giving the sides until Nov. 16 to reach an agreement, BoxingScene reported. If they do not, the fight will go to a purse bid. The Ring reported that the sides have 20 days to reach a deal.

Stevenson, 25-0 with 11 knockouts, has not fought since beating Teofimo Lopez on Jan. 31. Muratalla, also unbeaten at 25-0 with 17 knockouts, moved up after defending his IBF lightweight title against Robson Conceicao and was installed as the WBO’s No. 1 contender at 140 pounds.

BoxingScene reported that potential suitors, including DAZN and Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions, are pursuing Stevenson after his departure from Zuffa Boxing. The report said an official close to him indicated Stevenson is interested in facing Muratalla.

Conor Benn says he would take a Conor McGregor fight

Conor Benn responded positively to a fan-made poster proposing a 2027 boxing match against Conor McGregor, saying he would take the fight “any day of the week,” according to Boxing News. Benn had said after losing to Ryan Garcia that he wanted time with his family.

Seconds Out reported that Benn is considering opponents for a return in 2027. He was stopped in the second round by Garcia in September, and has said he would return at 150 pounds or above. A third fight with Chris Eubank Jr. is also a possibility, the outlet reported.

McGregor, a former UFC champion, has boxed professionally once, losing to Floyd Mayweather by 10th-round TKO in 2017, according to Boxing News.

Jake Paul and Darren Till discuss a possible boxing match

Jake Paul’s business partner, Nakisa Bidarian, confirmed that Paul’s team is discussing a possible boxing match with former UFC fighter Darren Till. Bidarian said the timing depends on finalizing an opponent and arranging distribution: a fight could happen before the end of the year if they move quickly, otherwise it would likely be in early 2027.

Paul has not fought since a sixth-round knockout loss to Anthony Joshua in December 2025, in which he broke his jaw, Sherdog reported. Bidarian said Paul had been medically cleared to return. Till has competed in boxing and bare-knuckle fighting since leaving the UFC.

Bidarian described Christmas Eve as a potential event date, saying he views it as a good opportunity to capture viewers’ attention. No agreement for a Paul-Till fight has been finalized.

Oscar De La Hoya calls a possible Mayweather-Garcia fight intriguing

Oscar De La Hoya said a potential Floyd Mayweather-Ryan Garcia fight would be “interesting” and assessed it as roughly even, according to Boxing News. The report said Garcia has announced that he and Mayweather have agreed to fight for Garcia’s WBC welterweight title, while Garcia’s lawyer and adviser confirmed talks.

De La Hoya, who lost to Mayweather by split decision in 2007, said Mayweather’s ring intelligence could trouble Garcia despite their 21-year age difference. The fight depends on Mayweather’s other obligations, including a rematch with Manny Pacquiao and an exhibition with Mike Tyson, and the report said many consider it unlikely to happen.

Edgar Berlanga arrested and charged with battery offenses in Florida

Edgar Berlanga was arrested Oct. 26 in Polk County, Florida, and charged with misdemeanor battery and felony aggravated battery, according to court records cited by Yahoo Sports and ESPN. The charges stem from an alleged Oct. 18 incident; authorities have released no further details.

Berlanga appeared in court on Tuesday, where his bond was set at $16,000. His arraignment is scheduled for Nov. 17. The felony charge carries a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison, ESPN reported.

Berlanga, 29, has a professional record of 24-2 with 19 knockouts. He last fought in July, stopping Steven Butler in the seventh round at Madison Square Garden’s Infosys Theater.

Andy Ruiz Jr. and Dave Allen discuss a possible 2027 fight

Dave Allen said he expects to fight former unified heavyweight champion Andy Ruiz Jr. in Sheffield in March or April 2027, provided Allen proves he can get into his best shape, BoxingScene reported. Allen said Matchroom chief executive Frank Smith had told him to get in shape before the fight could be finalized.

Allen, 34, described the bout as a possible final opportunity and said the best version of Ruiz would beat the best version of him. Ruiz returned from a two-year layoff in September but lost a 12-round decision to Damian Knyba, according to BoxingScene.

The proposed matchup is not confirmed. BoxingScene said Matchroom is requiring Allen to demonstrate his fitness before finalizing it.

Jaime Munguia could pursue Canelo Alvarez rematch after Saudi Arabia fight

Jaime Munguia will defend his WBA super-middleweight title against Nikita Zon in Saudi Arabia, DAZN reported. Munguia won the belt by beating Armando Reséndiz in May, and a victory could put a possible rematch with Canelo Alvarez in view.

Munguia lost to Alvarez by unanimous decision in May 2024, after Alvarez scored a knockdown in the fourth round. DAZN said a rematch could become a possibility if both men win their upcoming fights, although Munguia’s next move may be complicated by the WBA’s prior mandatory order involving Bektemir Melikuziev.

Alvarez is scheduled to challenge WBC champion Christian Mbilli on Oct. 31. DAZN reported that a win for both Mexican fighters could create the prospect of a unification fight.

The WBC said the convention will bring together champions, former champions, promoters, trainers and officials for mandatory fight sessions, rankings reviews and seminars for judges and referees.

A separate convention fight card on Nov. 12 will feature WBC women’s atomweight champion Camila Zamorano defending her title against Brenda Balderas. The card will also include Luis Nery against Japhet and Jonathan Fierro against Martín Sosa, with broadcast plans on ESPN and later TV Azteca.

Adam Azim to meet Gabriel Valenzuela in IBF title eliminator

Adam Azim is set to face Gabriel Gollaz Valenzuela at London’s Copper Box on Dec. 4 in an IBF junior-welterweight title eliminator, BBC Sport reported. The winner is in line to challenge for the vacant belt in early 2027.

Azim, 24, is unbeaten in 15 professional fights, with 12 wins by stoppage, and has won his last six bouts by knockout. Valenzuela, 32, has a record of 32 wins, five losses and one draw.

Azim last fought in May, stopping Steve Claggett in three rounds. The vacant IBF title became available after former champion Richardson Hitchins moved up to welterweight, BBC Sport reported.

Raven Chapman thanks trainer and donors after brain injury

Raven Chapman said her trainer, Stuart Scott, may have saved her life by calling an ambulance after she collapsed following a sparring session in Denmark on July 24. Chapman was diagnosed with a brain hematoma and cerebral edema, airlifted to hospital and placed in a medically induced coma.

Chapman told BBC South Today that Scott noticed she was not acting like herself and called for help before she collapsed. Surgery stemmed the bleeding and helped stabilize the swelling. An online fundraiser raised £97,792 for her return to the UK and long-term recovery.

Chapman said she may never get a boxing licence again and is unlikely to want to risk putting her loved ones through another such experience. She thanked the boxing community for its support.
