The bantamweight main event, a back and forth battle that ended in the fifth round, earned both men a $100,000 bonus.

UFC Vegas 121 handed out its post fight bonuses, and the headline award went exactly where most people watching expected. Raul Rosas Jr. and Raoni Barcelos earned Fight of the Night, but Luis Hernandez and Yazmin Jauregui each earned a $100,000 Performance of the Night bonus. Rosas Jr. The card itself lived up to its billing as a wild one. Twelve fights went down at the event, and eight of them ended in finishes, which is the kind of number that makes for an easy sell to fans who like their prelims short and violent. As for the man of the hour, Rosas Jr. now sits at number 12 in the bantamweight rankings, with Barcelos right behind him at number 13, so this was very much a top 15 matchup with real stakes attached. Our Elo model, built off nine fights for each man, had Rosas Jr. rated at 1590 heading into the bout compared to 1546 for Barcelos, a gap that lines up with how the fight actually played out before Rosas Jr. found the finish. A late stoppage like that tends to say a lot about durability and gas tank as much as raw skill, and it is easy to see why the UFC rewarded both fighters for putting on that kind of show. For Rosas Jr., the win and the bonus check add up to a strong night's work in a bantamweight division that is only going to get more crowded around the top 15 as more names push for title contention.
