Alexander Volkanovski is apparently balancing two careers right now. Along with getting ready to defend his featherweight title, the champ has found time to shoot another comedy skit, this one poking fun at UFC fighter pay, according to both Bloody Elbow and MMA Fighting.

The video is another collaboration with Sportsbet.com.au, continuing a bit Volkanovski has leaned into before his fights, playing the part of a movie star while needling a topic that fighters across the sport bring up constantly. Both outlets frame it as Volkanovski going full comedic actor in the lead up to his title defense.

That defense comes at UFC 333 on October 24, where Volkanovski puts his belt on the line against Movsar Evloev, the number one ranked contender in the division. Evloev enters off a win over Lerone Murphy by majority decision back on March 21, and he's riding that momentum into the biggest fight of his career.

The betting markets see this one as a genuine coin flip. Volkanovski is priced at minus 105 while Evloev sits at minus 108, with our own model giving Evloev a slight 54 percent edge over Volkanovski's 46. The Elo numbers tell an interesting story too. Volkanovski rates 1505 across six tracked bouts, while Evloev comes in higher at 1597 over just four, suggesting the challenger has been climbing fast in a smaller sample.

None of that changes what's clearly a tight matchup on paper, champion against the division's top contender, with a pay punchline thrown in for good measure before fight week really ramps up. Whether the joke lands better than Evloev's takedown attempts will remain to be seen once the cage door closes on October 24.
