Pimblett Predicts Fury-Joshua as Hearn Denies Dana White Role Again

Paddy Pimblett shared his take on Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua while Eddie Hearn again shot down claims that Dana White is involved.

UFC lightweight contender Paddy Pimblett has thrown his hat into the ring on the heavyweight boxing clash between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua, offering up his own prediction for how the long awaited fight plays out.

Meanwhile, the saga surrounding UFC boss Dana White's role in the bout continues. Eddie Hearn has once again denied that White has any involvement in putting Fury vs. Joshua together, a claim he and White have been going back and forth on for some time. The disagreement between Hearn and White was already brewing as one of the loudest feuds in combat sports before Fury vs. Joshua even got signed, and it has only grown louder since White started making moves into the boxing world.

For Pimblett, the detour into boxing punditry comes while he sits at number 5 in the UFC lightweight rankings. He is coming off a first round finish of Benoit Saint Denis this past July, tapping him with a d'arce choke in just 52 seconds. That win keeps Pimblett rolling, and according to our Elo model, built from his six tracked bouts, he currently sits at a rating of 1565, a number that reflects how sharp he has looked inside the cage even as he spends his time outside it chiming in on boxing's biggest heavyweight showdown.

Whether Pimblett's prediction for Fury vs. Joshua lands or not, his willingness to speak up on it fits a pattern of UFC fighters wading into the White vs. Hearn dispute. With White continuing to push into boxing promotion and Hearn standing firm that White has no actual hand in this fight, the rift between the two promoters shows no sign of cooling off, and it is likely to keep drawing commentary from fighters like Pimblett long after Fury and Joshua finally meet.
