Volkanovski Eyes Gaethje 'Last Dance' as Pimblett Rips Evloev's Quit

After out-lasting illness to stop Movsar Evloev at UFC 333, Alexander Volkanovski pitched a farewell superfight with Justin Gaethje while Paddy Pimblett says Evloev gave up.

Alexander Volkanovski has already moved on to his next pitch after turning back the toughest test of his featherweight reign.

Now Volkanovski wants one more run. He has floated a lightweight title fight against Justin Gaethje, framing it as a double farewell that would let both men close out their careers against each other.

Evloev, who went into UFC 333 as the number one ranked featherweight and carried a 1597 Elo mark built off just four tracked bouts, is getting a rougher reception than his resume suggests. Paddy Pimblett said flatly that Evloev quit against Volkanovski, arguing the Russian could have survived the second round had he kept fighting.

The same card saw Petr Yan retain his bantamweight title with a unanimous decision over Merab Dvalishvili, another result Sherdog flagged as part of a UFC 333 night that reshuffled betting lines for potential rematches.

Fans are already dissecting the fallout, with the division waiting to see whether the champion gets his Gaethje farewell fight.
