A Weibo video shows Yi Fei challenging what it calls the strongest combat robot for prize money. It also shows Zeng Xiaoxian becoming anxious out of concern for his wife.

EngineAI makes the T800 and runs the URKL league

Shenzhen-based EngineAI builds its T800 humanoid robot and organises the URKL robot-fighting league, according to Roboxing’s reporting. The company also supplies T800s to CyberHero and ARC. Roboxing identifies the company as Shenzhen EngineAI Robotics Technology Co., Ltd., founded in 2023, with Zhao Tongyang as chief executive. It reports no figures for revenue, funding, staff or sales.

People’s Daily Online, citing Beijing Youth Daily, reports that the T800 is 1.73 metres tall, with joints rated at 450 newton-metres of peak torque and an aviation-grade aluminium-magnesium shell. The report says EngineAI is developing an AI system for perception and decision-making, but describes that as a direction for the robot, not a demonstrated capability.

Robot-fighting leagues have not shown fully autonomous fights

Roboxing’s review of the leagues found no fully autonomous fight under match conditions as of 31 October 2026. Control methods vary: Shadow Combat League uses motion-capture pilots, ARC has robots mirror pilots in VR or motion-capture rigs, and Ultimate Bots uses game controllers and a browser. REK also uses remote human pilots, according to the San Francisco Standard.

Accounts of URKL’s control system conflict. Xinhua’s Economic Reference says the T800 can make autonomous decisions using real-time visual feedback, while Guangzhou Daily describes teams’ AI algorithms driving a perception, decision and execution loop. Roboxing says EngineAI has not published a technical definition that resolves the difference, and does not present either account as definitive.
