CyberHero launched its robot league in Riyadh, with seven stops still unnamed
CyberHero held its first event on Sept. 9, 2026. As of Oct. 27, no other city or date had been announced for the planned eight-city season.

CyberHero’s first stop was Riyadh
CyberHero, a touring humanoid robot combat league run by Hero Esports, held its first event in Riyadh on Sept. 9, 2026. The Saudi Press Agency reported that the event took place at Boulevard City in the presence of Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Sultan, chairman of the Saudi Esports Federation. The Middle East Observer located the event at MBC Studio 1 and reported that 10 EngineAI T800 robots were brought into a purpose-built arena.
The Saudi Press Agency said the planned inaugural season would visit eight cities across the Middle East, Europe, the Americas and Asia. As of Oct. 27, the other seven stops had not been named, and no stream or broadcast partner for the Riyadh event had been identified. The Middle East Observer reported that the league’s format can combine human teleoperation, programmed behaviours and autonomous decision-making.
Humanoid robot leagues differ from BattleBots in rules and control
BattleBots’ 2027 rules, published on Oct. 1, 2026, require a robot weighing no more than 250 pounds and carrying at least one independently powered weapon. The rules require remote control through a commercially available radio system. A match lasts three minutes, with three judges scoring damage and engagement if it does not end early.
Humanoid robot leagues have no shared rulebook, according to the reporting. They generally score strikes from robots’ limbs rather than requiring weapons, and their controls vary: Shadow Combat League and ARC use motion capture, while UFB pilots use game controllers and REK pilots use VR headsets. Ultimate Bots awards points for strikes and score zones, while the account of URKL describes five-minute rounds, timeouts and group stages.
