The NWSL Shield and the last spot in the eight-team playoff field will be decided on Nov. 1, when all eight matches kick off at 5 p.m. ET. Gotham FC can secure its first Shield with a win or draw against Utah Royals. San Diego Wave, three points back, needs to beat Bay FC and have Gotham lose.
Seattle Reign holds eighth place with 44 points, ahead of North Carolina Courage on 42 and Denver Summit on 41. A Seattle win over Orlando Pride clinches a playoff berth; a draw is enough if North Carolina loses to Denver. Denver needs to beat North Carolina and have Orlando beat Seattle.
