Dominick Reyes Still Not Done Ripping Daniel Cormier's UFC 333 Call

A week after his first round finish of Azamat Murzakanov, Reyes keeps grading the broadcast and says Dominick Cruz sets the standard.

Dominick Reyes finished his fight at UFC 333 in a hurry, but he's nowhere close to finishing his fight with Daniel Cormier over how that finish got called. Reyes stopped Azamat Murzakanov with a first round knockout, the punch landing at 2:40, and almost as soon as the broadcast ended he started picking apart the commentary. Sherdog reports Reyes has also named his pick for the best commentator in the sport, pointing to Dominick Cruz as the gold standard UFC color men should be measured against. The feud started with Reyes accusing Cormier of bias in how he called the finish over Murzakanov, and it escalated fast. Reyes labeled Cormier "a low IQ hater" in the back and forth that followed on social media. Bloody Elbow adds that Reyes has since accused Cormier of not doing any research at all before weighing in on the fight. Reyes sits at number eight in the light heavyweight rankings, with Murzakanov right behind him at number seven, and our Elo model has them separated by less than twenty points, Reyes at 1537 across six tracked bouts to Murzakanov's 1556 across five. That's about as close to a pick 'em as the division gets at that spot in the rankings, which may be part of why Reyes felt the broadcast owed the moment more credit than it got. Fans are chewing over the whole UFC 333 card on Reddit's live discussion thread for the event, and this commentary spat has become one of the threads people keep coming back to as the back and forth between Reyes and Cormier keeps going.
